Graphic Error and Connection Issue
Hi. ^_^
I have playing Guild Wars with my friend at his house. It is especially fun because he two computers right next to each other so we can play together and talk in person at the same time.
However, his computers are, well, slow and are not as fast as mine.
His graphics card is out-dated, and he is unable to install a new one himself (neither of us know how to do it, and we don't want to break his computers).
So, because of his out-dated graphics card, there are some areas we are not allowed to go to. Like, Yatendi Canyons. We both get this error (because his computers are exactly the same).
So we can't go to that area and we have to do something else.
Recently, we were doing a quest that took us to the town Rasta Sum. (I think thats what its called.) And we began to try out Pollymock (I know, I know, Poppycock. >.<!)
So, we both beat it (remember that Pollymock is in Rasta Sum so we have been there before), and when we were transported back to Rasta Sum, we got that same graphics card error.
So, now I am a little confused, we had already been to this town, interacted with NPCs, gone to storage, etc. but now every time we try to re-enter that town, we still get that error.
Hes tried to reinstall the drivers on the computer that I use (by following the instructions the Guild Wars site gave him), but we still couldn't enter that area.
So, I'm hoping one of you will be able to help us. I don't know what to post here to let you know what his stats are, but if you tell me what and how to do it, I'll post a screen-shot of it. ^_^
Oh, and please don't say he needs a new graphics card, cause we know that. He even has a new graphics card (but only one) and once again, we don't know how to install it.
Also, (this has nothing to do with GW but I think it needs to be fixed) at random times he will get these messages:
This only happens when he's on the internet and he just hits the "X" on the "big one" and hits "Connect" on the "small one".
If any of you have a solution or an answer, please reply. ^_^
Thanks in advance.
Oh, and if you are wondering why I am posting this and not him, its cause he doesn't have a Guild Wars Guru account, and he doesn't believe this will help.
(I hope it does )

That error is well-documented to occur in some areas (Yatendi Canyons and the Tarnished Coast, specifically) when you're using certain models of Intel video hardware. Those areas utilize video rendering techniques that your friend's video card simply lacks the capability to render.
Adding -dx8 to the "Target:" field of the GW shortcut icon might prevent the crash. I know you don't want to be told he needs a new video card, but unfortunately that's the only real answer to your question. There's no fix we can give you, your friend's hardware limitations have been reached.
That said, installing a video card is extremely simple. Google searching will probably find you tons of tutorials and in-depth explanations of it for first-timers.
